Girls Fastpitch Softball

Keeping softball fun — especially in the early stages of youth participation — is the primary concern of our programs. We believe in participation for all, positive competition, and building character. We teach fundamentals and traditions of the game, champion sportsmanship, and encourage family and community support.

Pitch Perfect (Machine Pitch) Softball (For Girls, Ages 7-9) 
(Divisions determined by participants age on or before April 30, 2025)
Start your young player out right by learning the fundamentals of softball, with manual pitching machines providing consistent pitching to help develop hitting skills. Girls will learn other essential skills such as throwing, catching, and fielding.  Rally Day will be scheduled for a Tuesday in April, from 7-7:50 p.m. in the lower level of the Civic Auditorium (1001 Ridge Street).  Enter through the door at the end of the ramp on Plain Street.  At Rally Day, parents and players will meet their coach, league supervisor and receive information regarding the league.  League practices may begin April, games run May through the beginning of July.


Fastpitch Softball 
(Divisions determined by participants age on or before December 31, 2024)

10U Fastpitch (For Girls, Ages 9-10)
Playing outside competition through the KVA, the league uses a combination of a pitching machine and player pitching to assist in building fundamentals. The program includes five weeks of preseason practices followed by a 12-game schedule and a double-elimination tournament.  Rally Day is scheduled for a Saturday in March from 1-1:50 p.m. in the lower level of the Civic Auditorium (1001 Ridge Street).  Enter through the door at the end of the ramp on Plain Street.  At Rally Day, parents and players will meet their coach, league supervisor and receive information regarding the league. League practices may begin the end of March, games run May through June.


12U Fastpitch (For Girls, Ages 11-12)
Playing outside competition through the KVA, the program uses strictly player pitch and includes five weeks of preseason practices followed by a 12-game schedule and double-elimination tournament.  Rally Day will be scheduled for a Saturday in March from 1-1:50 p.m. in the lower level of the Civic Auditorium (1001 Ridge Street).  Enter through the door at the end of the ramp on Plain Street.  At Rally Day, parents and players will meet their coach, league supervisor and receive information regarding the league.  League practices may begin end of March, games run May through June.


14U Fastpitch (For Girls, Ages 13-14)

The cost is $95 for the first child and $85 for each additional child in the same household for 10U, 12U and 14U players.  Pitch Perfect players have a cost of $80 for the first child and $70 for each additional child in the same household.  

Youth Sports Registrations begin in January at the Civic Auditorium from 6-7:30 p.m. Beginning the following Friday, we will be offering multiple options for registration:

Zero Tolerance Policy for Sports Officials/Park Personnel Abuse

Make checks payable to the La Porte Park and Recreation Department. Visa/Master Card accepted. Please bring the participant's birth certificate along with the appropriate registration fee. Financial assistance is available for qualifying families.

 

Preseason Clinics
 

All participants are encouraged to attend the preseason clinics scheduled for Saturdays in March at the La Porte High School field house (enter through door #23). The clinics will feature instruction in the fundamentals and allow players to knock off the "rust" from the winter. The clinics run from 12-12:50 p.m. for Slowpitch divisions and from 1-1:50 p.m. for Fastpitch divisions.
