Request for Proposals for Operation of Concession Stands

The City of La Porte Park and Recreation Department invites qualified Offerors to submit proposals to operate and maintain the concession stand at one or all of the following locations: Stone Lake Beach and Kesling Park Baseball-Softball Complex.

The goal is to continue to provide affordable, quality concessions which enhance the enjoyment of these amenities. The Department is seeking successful Vendors with demonstrated background in operations and maintenance of similar facilities or equitable experience. Ultimately, the selected entity and the Department will enter into a concessionaire agreement for the operations and maintenance of either or both sites.

The Department will now accept sealed proposals until 4 p.m. CST on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at the Clerk-Treasurer Office (801 Michigan Avenue, La Porte, IN 46350). Proposals will be opened and read aloud at 9 a.m. Friday, March 1, at City Hall. Questions regarding the requirements may be directed to Mark Schreiber, Park Superintendent, via email at mschreiber@cityoflaportein.gov. Questions will be answered via public addendum.

Stone Lake Kayak Lockers - Rentals Available

We continue to make improvements at Stone Lake Beach! Summer 2022 we took delivery and installed sixteen kayak lockers near the accessible kayak launch. Additional improvements during 2022 included fresh paint for the beach house exterior and interior as well as the adjacent fencing, over 245 tons of new sand, a kayak rental unit, new outdoor shower towers, concrete cornhole boards, and a ping pong table. Thank you to the  La Porte Park Foundation for funding the painting projects and the sand purchase.
